About The Dead Matter movie:
A guilt-ridden young woman desperate to contact her deceased brother discovers a powerful ancient relic that controls the dead. Her dark obsession drags her into the tangled world of two warring vampire lords (Andrew Divoff of Lost, Wishmaster and Tom Savini of Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead) each with his own sinister plans for the artifact and a vampire hunter (Jason Carter of Babylon 5) who will stop at nothing to destroy it. This chilling gothic dark fantasy co-produced by Robert Kurtzman (creator of From Dusk Till Dawn, KNB FX) features a haunting score by Halloween musicians Midnight Syndicate. It’s a mix of classic horror themes with modern twists and a touch of dark humor that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

2 days left to make donations to Robyn Griggs’ latest project.

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

From Robyn: “The Squad is the story about a young girls dream to be on the high school cheerleading squad that takes a morbid turn. After her initial try out, her family gets brutally Murdered. Years Later, She is the Cheerleading coach. Many murders and Many lies…all will unfold in front of our eyes. The Squad will star actors Trent Haaga, Edwin Neal, and also myself (Robyn Griggs). Many others to be announced as well.

This will be shot this summer in Ohio, I plan on using a very experienced DP and would like to do this film with the feeling as such movies as the original Prom Night and Halloween. Spooky, creepy, but not over the Top. I will be having some surprise cameos as well. I always am in front of the camera, which I love, but for once I want to be behind the camera too. I am going to give it a shot. I don’t expect an Oscar, but I do want to do justice to The Horror Genre. Thanks for helping me make a dream come true :)

DVD Sneak Peek – Watch the Women’s Studies “Prequel”

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

To celebrate the June 8th DVD release of Women’s Studies, Ningen Manga Productions’ feature length movie about a women’s academy where female empowerment is something to kill for, the filmmakers are giving audiences an early look at some of the special features included on the DVD.

First up is a deleted scene introduced by writer/director Lonnie Martin, The Black Widow “Prequel,” the sequence that originally opened the movie. It chronicles the tale of three frat boys who think they’re in for a night of strippers and fun, but end up having a party that’s far more sinister. See, the nightclub they go to is run by the ladies of the Ross-Prentiss Women’s Academy, so the last thing these boys are getting out of tonight is a good time.

Check out The Black Widow “Prequel” from Women’s Studies here:

Ningen Manga Productions will release a total of four (4) sneak peeks of DVD extras every Tuesday in the month leading up to the June 8th DVD release. Be sure to check the official site,www.AreYouALadyKiller.com , to get the latest information. And don’t forget to pre-order your copy ofWomen’s Studies via Amazon.

We have a slight change in plans because of unforeseen circumstances? “Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things” screening has been moved from 10 pm to midnight

The Zombie Walk is still on at 9:15pm. To those who do it and enter the theater to stay for the midnight screening of the 35mm print “CSPWDT” you will get a surprise for staying… If not, just come back at midnight or back to Steve’s Inn for a drink or two. We are sorry for the move but something out of our powers to be, forced us to make the change. I hope this does not stop you from enjoying the Zombie Awareness Event with us?

Thank you and hope to see you tomorrow night,

Texas Frightmare update part 1 from Rich

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Newly Bastardized Rich Dalzotto is reporting in from Texas Frightmare:

It’s Friday around 1:30. So far it’s been a fun and eventful time in Dallas and the convention hasn’t even started. Thursday night was spent in the hotel bar having drinks with my friends Dr. Pus and Michelle. By the end of the night we were having blast with a bunch of people that included Joe Knetter, Scarlet Salem and T-shirt Joe, all 3 of whom you can meet at Horror Realm. They will even let you buy them a drink.

Throughout the evening I had a chance to catch up with Bill Mosley, speak with Sid Haig and Lance Henriksen. Not too bad considering the convention doesn’t start until later today.
This morning we set up our tables in the ballroom. Big space but I am a little bit concerned for the vendors. All of the celebrities are lined up near the entrance and there is pipe and drape blocking the view of the vendors. My concern is that the autograph hounds will never wander into the dealer area and support these great vendors. I like a room setup that forces you to walk by everything. Gives the people selling things a chance to catch your eye with something cool. But we will see. My fears my be without warrant.

I’ll try to upload some pictures later. But for now I’m off to have another order of Nachos and a few more beers. So until then I hope you rot in the hell of the daily grind while I have a blast.
