The Dead Matter Soundtrack Review

     These days most movie soundtracks pretty much consist of whatever popular pop song that is playing on the radio or whatever is being downloaded these days to their IPod. It’s very rare these days that you get an actually ‘soundtrack’. Most movie soundtracks when released have that one song you already heard a thousand times and some other songs from over the years that were in the film for about ten seconds. With “The Dead Matter” soundtrack, it goes old school: making original music that fits the film. When a track plays on “The Dead Matter” soundtrack you can picture an exact scene from the film… But not only that you are able to get lost in the music, it creates an eerie atmosphere of dark creepiness and fun that you remember when first listening to a soundtrack from Carpenter’s “Halloween” or “The Thing” or even Richard Band’s “Re-Animator”. “The Dead Matter” music means something that isn’t there just for background noise as most soundtracks are these days for movies? “The Dead Matter” soundtrack is a vital part of the film as it is just as important as the acting or how certain scenes are shot; the music is able to tell you the story as you watch the film. It’s a great soundtrack to add to your music collection if you are not only a movie lover but a movie soundtrack lover as each track flows well into the next. May 26, 2010 (Cleveland, OH) Midnight Syndicate Films has announced plans to release a special edition of The Dead Matter DVD that will include two bonus CDs by gothic Halloween music artists Midnight Syndicate.  It will be available at all Hot Topic stores nationwide on July 30th.  The specially-priced set will include The Dead Matter DVD, the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack CD by Midnight Syndicate, and a new Midnight Syndicate 13th Anniversary greatest hits CD entitled Halloween Music Collection.   Midnight Syndicate Films has also released a new official trailer for The Dead Matter movie which can be viewed at the film’s revamped website, www.TheDeadMatter.com and YouTube.

The Dead Matter: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack CD contains the score composed by the film’s director, Edward Douglas of Midnight Syndicate, as well as several limited-edition remixes of Midnight Syndicate songs and other music that appears in the film from bands like Lazy Lane, HipNostic, and Eternal Legacy.   Midnight Syndicate’s Halloween Music Collection CD features over 60 minutes of songs hand-picked by Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka to celebrate the band’s first 13 years.   Both new CDs will also be available at Halloween retailers nationwide in August.
