After spending the month of May outside working around the house and garage, I guess it’s time to go back to work…

The show’s Guest page is up-to-date. Chock full of new faces, as well as a couple returning fan favorites, I think we’ve got another great batch of guests lined up for October’s show. Head on over to the Guest Page and see if you don’t agree with me.

I’ve also posted half a dozen new films we’ll be screening at the next show, along with a few event graphics. Some good stuff to look forward to on the Films and Events page as well, so be sure to check it over after you punch up the guest page.

Cinema Wasteland’s resident horror host, A. Ghastlee Ghoul, will be celebrating his 20th anniversary this October. If you need a Ghastlee fix before the next Wasteland Show, don’t miss A. Ghastlee Ghoul’s Splattertude Radio where you can catch yours truly doing his thing with The Wasteland Blues Block. New shows every week at: www.splattertude.com

It’s time for us here to get on the road again. We’ve trimmed a couple of conventions from our schedule this year, but there are still more than enough cons, festivals, and shows to go around this season. Why not punch up MEET THE WASTELAND on the main web page to see if we’ll be in your area any time this summer.

Looks like that’s all I have for this month, so let’s end things with the usual batch of Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo reminders:

TICKETS: For everything we offer attending fans, there is no better bargain than an advance ticket to a Cinema Wasteland Show and no better time to plan to be with us than right now. No “hidden fees” at a Wasteland show guarantees every fan through the door is treated just like the person standing next to you in line; and your ticket in gets you everything we have to offer except for an autograph from our guests. Order before 9/5/08 and you can get an advance 3-Day Pass for only $30.00. Yes, that was correct: Thirty bucks. Cheap at twice the price if you ask me. You can also save $5.00 on any single day pass ordered in advance before 9/5/08. With prices for damn near everything high and the shaved monkey’s economy in the toilet, there is no better way to get your moneys worth than attending a Wasteland weekend.

HOTEL: The hotel sold out in record time last show, and with every hotel and motel in the area more than likely raising prices on you by what I hear, I can’t imagine it’s not a good idea to reserve your room ASAP for October’s show. You can reserve your room by calling The Holiday Inn direct at (440) 238-8800, or reserve your room on our web site. Just remember to ask for “The Cinema Wasteland rate of $89 per night” in order to save yourself a few bucks over regular room rates, and DO NOT take the hotel up on any other offers they may mention as that won’t help you or us in the long run.

FLIERS and POSTCARDS: Updated fliers and postcards will be available in the next couple of weeks. Bars, specialty shops, video stores, tattoo parlors, college campuses, music stores… All good places for Wasteland attendees to hang out. If you frequent any place that you think may be a good place to put a stack of fliers and you’d like to help spread the Wasteland word, then by all means, get in touch and I’ll be more than happy to send off a stack of fliers or postcards. As always, any help in spreading the word about the show is appreciated.

VIDEO FOOTAGE: I’m always looking for any and all footage fans may have shot over the course of the weekend. I’m particularly interested in the panels, guest talks, and Ghastlee’s Saturday night live show, but I love to check out whatever anyone shoots at the show. I used to get a lot of footage from people for my personal collection, but it’s slowed down greatly over the past couple of years (so I’m really looking for footage from the past three or four shows). We’re the only show out there that let’s attending fans shoot anywhere they want, so hey, give a little back to the guy who makes it happen for you fans. Our PO Box address is at the bottom of every update we send out…

That’s it for this time around. If I don’t see you during our June travels, then I’ll catch you next update.

Cheers,

Ken

Griffin Dunne, of course, played the iconic undead Jack in John Landis’s 1981 classic ‘An American Werewolf in London’, but fans may also remember Griffin in one of his many film and television roles, including: ‘Johnny Dangerously’, ‘Alias’, ‘Law and Order’, ‘After Hours’, ‘Quiz Show’, ‘Who’s That Girl?’ and ‘The Fan’!

zombie

Ottaviano Dell’Acqua

Brought to us thanks to Paura Productions! He portrayed one of the most iconic zombies in cinema – not to mention one of the most iconic creatures spawned from film director Lucio Fulci. Ottaviano Dell’Acqua (aka: the “worm-faced zombie”) has “popped-up” in a number of films over the past thirty years, including his iconic role in ‘Zombie’ (aka: ‘Zombi 2′), as well as ‘Zombi 3′, ‘Zombi 4′, ‘Rats’, ‘Nightmare City’ and ‘Cut and Run’.

Shawnee Shawnee Smith - JUST ADDED!
Recently, HorrorHounds can remember seeing Shawnee Smith as the vicious psychopath, Amanda, in the highly popular ‘Saw’ films (including parts 2 and 3). Prior to ‘Saw’, you may have seen Shawnee in such films as ‘The Blob’, ‘The Stand’ and ‘Summer School’. She can next be seen in the horror musical, ‘Repo: The Genetic Opera’. Shawnee will be in attendance (with Missi Pyle) to promote their band: Smith & Pyle’s ‘s new album!
Bradley Doug Bradley
A living icon – Doug Bradley has portrayed Pinhead – the lead cenobite from hell – in all eight of the uber-popular ‘Hellraiser’ films! On top of this role, Doug can be seen in Clive Barker’s 1990 horror film ‘Nightbreed’ (as Dirk Lylesberg), ‘Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes’, ‘Proteus’ (1995) and ‘Prophecy: Uprising’ (2005). This is a rare chance to see Doug with his fellow-cenobites actors!
Faerch Daeg Faerch
Daeg portrays the young movie maniac himself – Michael Myers – in Rob Zombie’s 2007 horror classic remake ‘Halloween’, as he turns into the killer “boogeyman” known as the shape. Daeg can also be seen in such films and shorts as ‘Freakshow’, ‘Interminal’, ‘Coming to Town’ and ‘Life Ride’. Coming up for young Daeg are roles in the Will Smith starrer ‘Hancock’ and the independent film ‘Run! Bitch Run!’
Moseley Bill Moseley
One of the most beloved horror actors returns to HorrorHound Weekend – and he is bringing “the family”! As Chop-Top in the 1986 film ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2′ he became an icon. In 2003′s ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ and ‘The Devil’s Rejects (2006) he became a legend! Bill can also be seen in such films as ‘The Blob’ (1988), ‘Night of the Living Dead’ (1990), ‘Evil Bong’ (2006), ‘Grindhouse’ and ‘Rob Zombie’s Halloween’ (2007).

The star of one of the greatest horror films of all time makes his way to Pittsburgh this June! David Naughton howled his way into infamy in 1981′s ‘An American Werewolf in London’. With a long list of film credits behind him (‘Hot Dog’, ‘Body Bags’, ‘Amityville: A New Generation’) and with the upcoming release of ‘Beware the Moon’ – the ‘AWIL’ docu by HorrorHound’s own Paul Davis – fans will not want to miss out on meeting David (and Jack – together)!
